How We Got Started
Peekadoo was founded by Abeer Allam in late 2022—an electrical engineer, a passionate crocheter, and a mother of four. Her crochet journey began in 2007, when she taught herself step by step through online learning and years of practice. What started as a craft grew into a business serving customers across Egypt and later reaching several countries through export.
Peekadoo was born from a deeply personal moment: when Abeer’s youngest child showed signs of weak fine motor development, Abeer began creating crochet toys and essentials that support children’s growth through play. Today, Peekadoo designs thoughtfully handmade products that help newborns and kids develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory awareness, while using gentle, natural materials such as cotton and bamboo.
Beyond products, Peekadoo is built on impact. We collaborate with and support women artisans, helping create income opportunities and flexible work—because empowering women strengthens families and communities.
